It’s like right after I wrote that last post, my social media algorithms decided to show me a flurry of posts saying things like,
- “Sweat Out The Holiday Damage”
- “No Pain, No Gain”
- “Detox Your Body for A Fresh Start”
And my personal favorite and perhaps most harmful: “Summer bodies are made in the winter,” a mantra, by the way, that reinforces superficiality instead of health and functionality.
There is no shortage of societal messaging that urges you to leap into action, set ambitious resolutions, and dive headfirst into productivity. However, if we turn our gaze to nature, we learn that spring, not the first few months of the year, is the true season of new beginnings and energetic pursuits.
The Gift of Winter
Winter offers us a precious gift: the opportunity to set intentions and nurture our plans in anticipation of action. During these colder months, we can take a step back, reflect, and plan. This period is akin to the quiet, unseen work beneath the surface, where seeds rest before they burst into life. It’s a time to cultivate ideas, allowing them to take root and prepare for the vibrant growth that spring promises.
Spring: The Season of Action
As the natural world awakens in spring, so will our readiness to implement the goals we’ve tenderly cultivated during winter. The groundwork laid in the preceding months will transform into a dynamic spring where our dreams begin to bloom into reality. Just as flowers emerge from the thawing earth, our aspirations will take shape, fueled by the energy and renewal that spring naturally brings.
