Many people assume you have to give up the convenience of deli meat to lead a healthier lifestyle. However, the key to a healthier lifestyle is not restricting your food or drastically changing your diet. Instead, focus on the quality of your food and find ways to add more nutrition where possible.
If you’re used to having deli sandwiches for lunch in your regular rotation, you can still enjoy them if you choose high-quality meat and select ingredients that optimize digestion and metabolic efficiency. That’s what I’m sharing with you today – a mindful “recipe” that’s as delicious as it is nutritious.
SERVES: 1
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 sprouted grain wrap
- 1/2 tbsp pesto, made with olive oil
- 1 tbsp organic hummus
- 2 leaves romaine lettuce
- 3 slices organic deli turkey breast
- 2 oz goat cheese
- 1/4 c cherry tomatoes
THE STEPS:
- Spread pesto and hummus on one side of the sprouted grain wrap.
- Top with romain lettuce, deli turkey, and goat cheese, spread evenly.
- Tightly roll the wrap in towards the middle. Once fully rolled, slice horizontally into one-inch pieces.
- Serve with a side of cherry tomatoes.
THE PERFECT PAIRING: QUALITY MEALS AND STRESS MANAGEMENT
Remember, eating well is important, but you can’t eat your way out of a high-stress lifestyle because good food alone won’t solve all your health problems; you need to manage your stress levels, too. No matter how healthy you eat, you won’t be able to prevent or reduce chronic inflammation if you’re not taking care of your stress. So make sure you manage your stress and enjoy your healthy lifestyle fully.
